Bursary Scheme

At Llandeilo Town Twinning Association, we are proud of our bursary fund.  This is designed to provide financial assistance for students studying in the local area to visit our twin town Le Conquet.

All students studying in the local area are eligible to apply, including all pupils at Ysgol Bro Dinefwr.

The fund relies on the generosity of donors, although the Association also contributes from any spare money from fundraising events.  If, like us, you think this is a worthwhile cause and wish to make a donation, however small, please get in touch with us.  All money donated to the bursary fund goes in its entirety towards helping students travel to Le Conquet - there are no “overheads” or “administration costs”.

Although we would like to help every student who would benefit from visiting Le Conquet, as funding is inevitably limited, we do have some guidelines to help us choose the most deserving students.
Students should be in full-time education, and priority is given to those studying French or French history and culture.  We also give priority to existing members of the Association (although you don’t need to be a member to apply) and to those with the greatest financial need.

Funding is capped at a maximum of 50% of travel costs, which must be via reasonably economic means.
If you, or a student you know, would like to apply for bursary funding, please get in touch - just click the button at the bottom of the page.
A letter from your school teacher or educational supervisor outlining the anticipated benefits of such a visit would also be helpful.

If you are organising a group educational visit, we will also consider making a contribution towards travel costs.

We also host students from Le Conquet when they visit Llandeilo to help with their studies.
